Kristen Okabayashi is our preschool director here at Concordia Lutheran Preschool. She teaches the part time Bumblebees class as well as overseeing the preschool program. Kristen has a huge heart for kids, with preschool being her favorite age group to work with. Kristen has been working with children since 1998. Most recently, she worked as the Children's Director for her church, recruiting and training volunteer teachers for all the classrooms as well as providing curriculum and classroom support. She is really excited to be at Concordia, in her self proclaimed "dream job"!
Kristen graduated with a degree in business from the University of Washington, and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Seattle Pacific University. She has been married to her wonderful husband Scott since 1994, and they have 4 active boys who are also students at Concordia. In her limited free time, Kristen enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and especially vacationing at Lake Chelan and the beach with her family. She also volunteers in her church's prayer ministry and childrens church program.
Jessica Philips

Originally from Phoenix, AZ, Jessica Phillips graduated from Trinity Lutheran College in Issaquah with her BA in Multicultural Studies. She then attended Seattle University, earning her TESOL teaching certification. Jessica has been working in early childhood education for several years, she as been at Concordia since 2006. Jessica is the lead teacher of the Teddybear class for 2- and 3-year olds. She is excited to be here because of the opportunity to combine her love for God, children, and cultural diversity all together in her work. When Jessica is not teaching, she and her husband David enjoy discovering the many natural wonders and cultural spots in Washington State.
