We will celebrate each child's birthday with a "Shining Star Day." This day is a chance for your child to celebrate "me." I have selected the Shining Star days to fall either on or near your child's birthday. If your child has a summer birthday, his/her Shining Star Day will be at some other point during the school year that fits within the class schedule.
On this day children may bring in:
* Our Shining Star bag filled with special things that are important to your child (stuffed animals, favorite toys, books, etc). Please limit this to 4 or 5 items total.
* A special treat for snack or lunch time, if you desire. Please bring store-bought items only. Common treats brought in the past are popsicles, cupcakes, cookies, etc. You are welcome to get creative (as long as it remains store-bought).
* The "All About Me" poster, which includes pictures or drawings of special things about your child. You and your child will fill this out at home and bring it back on the Shining Star Day.
I will send out a reminder before your child's Shining Star Day and will leave the bag and "All About Me" poster at your child's cubby in advance. If I forget to leave the bag and/or poster, please feel free to remind me. If for some reason the date I have selected does not work with your family's schedule, please let me know as soon as possible. Parents are welcome to join and watch their child share these special things with the class, but please confirm the time for that specific day with Miss Samantha. Thank you!
