Concordia's History
The mission of Concordia Lutheran School is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by word and example and to teach children to grow spiritually, academically, physically, and socially.
Concordia was established as a single parish school in 1905 by Trinity Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill. In 1951, Trinity's congregation joined with several other Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations to form the Lutheran School Association of Greater Seattle, Inc., and Concordia was moved to its present site. Today, Concordia Lutheran School is still owned and operated by the Lutheran School Association of Greater Seattle. Offering Preschool-8th Grade, Concordia continues to offer a strong Christian atmosphere where our children develop academically, socially, and physically, all centered around a loving relationship with Christ.
Concordia's Heritage
In 1640, the first Lutheran school in America was opened in Delaware. Now, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod operates the largest elementary and secondary school system of any Protestant denomination in the nation. Twelve colleges prepare young adults for the teaching ministry of the Lutheran Church.
